From first opening the box the PS3 glossy black with soft touch switches this is a fabulous looking console, the connections are quite good with the HDMI for HDTV and blu-ray player and for a standard connection the scart adapter, once connected and switched on the controllers charges through a USB, the onscreen menu is easy to use and very thorough, the picture in HD is astounding and standard still very good, inserting a game disc is automatic loading and game data saved to the hard drive, the game play is what you expect, excellent, the audio is very good and the console has an optical out for 5.1 reproduction, put in a dvd and it too automatically loads and the controller is uded to go through the dvd menu, the picture is excellent on dvd as on games, to access the menu the controller has a PS button that shows the charge remaining on the wireless controller and gives access to the menu or to switch the conole off on standby, this is a superb console, looking around at prices of consoles ranging from the Argos Nintendo Wii to the Currys game console section packages and bargains are always avaiable.
